ATTENTION! ATTENTION! Temporary new taskmaster
There's a new sheriff...er...deputy in town...
After talking with Rusty, he has agreed to let me step in temporarily and be a kinder, gentler version of himself...NOT! I'll be just as mean. :)
Seriously, though, I have volunteered to take care of the story rounds, announcements, polls, etc, for the next 6 months or so.
Here are some of my ideas:
- Themed rounds every other month. Themes are for help in writing - its not necessary to follow theme. Also not necessary to submit to every round. Do the ones that sound fun to you or that you have time for.
- Complete stories only. No chapters, partially complete stories, etc. The impact of these partial stories is weak, in my opinion. Finish the story, then share it and blow people away.
- Mini contests on spur of the moment. Short writing challenges (with specific goals to accomplish). There will be two types: Spontaneous Combustion challenges will only take an hour or so. SuperNova challenges will be more intense. Prizes for the winners (Whitehole virtual dollars or small, cheap trinkets). Due in from one day to one week. You snooze, you loose! Prizes will be listed, and when you earn enough virtual dollars, pick a prize.
- Motivational emails, with examples.
- Special Pleas to write – you may receive a special plea to write on a given subject.
Again, the goal is to write and have fun.
